It is possible in four days though I would recommend at least five and spend some more time in Pahoa. I’ve lived there for a bit and I have to admit that it is quite charming.
Hawaii’s volcanoes are “shield” volcanoes. They don’t explode and spit lava, they let it gently flow out creating a beautiful landscape worth seeing.

Because it’s boring! It’s so damn boring to hang out at a beach and relax. You can do it anywhere. I feel like volunteering gets me to experience the country in a different way- it kind of makes me feel like I would actually live there and experience it to be my home. So why not feel home in Hawaii?
